Despite being a newer hero, Sunbird has already become beloved by allies, civilians, and even some of her enemies for her contagious positivity and friendly demeanor.

She is often accompanied by the less well-liked hero Mockingbird. This is largely assumed to be her trying to "fix" her counterpart.

Likewise, Gwen has a very positive reputation for always being helpful.

However, mostly buried beneath her amicable side, she is fiercely competitive and can be very stubborn. She does not like being looked down on or treated like she's stupid.

It's well known that she broke a kid's nose when he tried to pick a fight with her. Everyone took her side.

Powers

Sunbird has a natural transformation power. Her hummingbird-like wings allow her to hover and fly very precisely. She has a healing power that can endanger her quickly if she tries to do too much, draining her own body of life. She can not bring back the dead, and trying would do nothing.

Her weapon resembles the hilt of a sword, and while it does have an energy blade mode, it can also be aimed like a gun to fire a blast of energy. Both are excruciatingly hot when they land.

However, if she doesn't want to hurt someone, her weapon will leave a harmless, temporary mark and a warm feeling. She uses this as a "sparring mode", mostly with Mockingbird whose powers share this quirk.

Affiliation

Sunbird is very lovable and is good at making friends. Her ultimate goal is to help people, and she'll work with anyone who shares that goal.

Early in her career, she was invited to join PID "under the table" by the vigilante RADAR, who has a similar arrangement.

She has an alliance with the hero Mockingbird, and the two are often seen working together.
